AWSS (“AWSS”, “we”, “us”) provides reference study materials and one-to-one tutoring through the AWSS Student portal and related services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We keep it deliberately simple: we do not sell your data, run ads, or use third-party tracking.
1. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the service:
- Account & profile: your name, email address, and phone/WhatsApp number.
- Academic details: your college, course, intake year, and country.
- Content you provide: files you upload and chat messages you exchange with your tutor and our admin team.
- Device & notifications: a push-notification token and basic device type, used only to deliver in-app notifications (you can decline the notification permission).
We do not integrate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account.
- To deliver the service — match you with a subject expert, share reference study materials, and enable secure chat and file exchange.
- To send you service notifications (e.g. when your study material is ready or you receive a message).
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
3. How we store & protect it
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and stored on access-controlled infrastructure with encryption at rest. Access is limited to authorized personnel who need it to operate the service. Authentication tokens on your device are stored in the platform’s secure keystore (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. To protect your privacy, your identity is never shared with the tutors/experts — communication happens through anonymized, project-specific channels. We only share data where strictly necessary with infrastructure providers that host the service on our behalf, or where required by law.
5. Data retention & deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the portal (Profile → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes or anonymizes your personal data and revokes your access tokens. You may also email us to request deletion. Some records may be retained for a limited period where required for legal, security, or accounting reasons; after that they are deleted.
6. Your choices & rights
- Access, correct, or update your profile information in the portal.
- Decline or revoke the notification permission in your device settings.
- Delete your account and associated data (see §5).
- Contact us to exercise any privacy rights available to you under applicable law.
7. Children
AWSS is intended for students in higher education and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
